At LithiumGate, we aim to provide customers with a clear and transparent purchasing experience when buying lithium-ion cells, LiFePO4 batteries, second-life battery products, and related energy storage components.
This Refund and Returns Policy explains the conditions under which eligible products may be returned, exchanged, or refunded. Due to the specialist nature of battery products and the safety risks associated with their handling, storage, transportation, and installation, all return requests are subject to the conditions outlined below.
1. Return Eligibility
Customers may request a return or refund for eligible products under the following circumstances:
Damaged on Arrival: The product arrives visibly damaged or has sustained damage during delivery.
Incorrect Item Supplied: The product delivered differs from the item described in the order confirmation.
Missing Components: An item or component included in the confirmed order is missing.
Verified Product Defect: The product has a demonstrable manufacturing or functional defect covered by the applicable warranty or return terms.
Other Approved Circumstances: LithiumGate has expressly authorized the return following a review of the customer’s request.
To be considered for a return, customers must contact LithiumGate within [insert return request period, e.g., 7 calendar days] of delivery and provide their order number, a description of the issue, and supporting photographs or other reasonable evidence where applicable.
All returns require authorization from LithiumGate before the goods are sent back.
2. Non-Returnable Products and Circumstances
Certain products may not be eligible for return or refund, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and any express warranty or statutory rights.
These may include:
Batteries or cells that have been installed, modified, disassembled, reconfigured, or incorporated into a custom battery pack.
Products damaged by misuse, incorrect wiring, improper charging, overcharging, deep discharge, short-circuiting, puncturing, crushing, water exposure, or unsuitable storage.
Cells with damaged insulation, compromised terminals, physical deformation, corrosion caused after delivery, or evidence of unauthorized handling.
Products returned without prior authorization.
Products damaged during return transportation because of inadequate packaging or failure to follow approved shipping instructions.
Products sold under clearly disclosed final-sale conditions, where permitted by law.
Important: Nothing in this policy excludes any mandatory consumer rights or remedies that apply under relevant law.
3. Lithium Battery Safety and Return Requirements
Lithium-ion and LiFePO4 batteries contain stored energy and can present fire, chemical, and electrical hazards if mishandled. Return shipments therefore require additional precautions.
Before returning any battery or cell, customers must:
Contact LithiumGate for return authorization and product-specific shipping instructions.
Disclose any known damage, swelling, leakage, unusual heating, electrical failure, or other suspected safety issue.
Follow all applicable packaging, labeling, carrier, and dangerous-goods transportation requirements.
Use only an approved return method appropriate for the product’s condition and classification.
Avoid shipping damaged or potentially hazardous batteries without specific instructions from LithiumGate and the carrier.
Do not place swollen, leaking, punctured, overheating, or otherwise damaged batteries into ordinary parcel shipments. Do not attempt to dismantle or repair a hazardous battery to make it eligible for return.
LithiumGate reserves the right to refuse an unsafe shipment or arrange an alternative handling process where appropriate and legally permitted.
4. How to Request a Return
To initiate a return, follow these steps:
Step 1: Contact our team
Email [insert customer support email address] with the subject line “Return or Refund Request.”
Step 2: Provide order details
Include:
Your full name and order number.
The product name and quantity.
The date the order was delivered.
A clear explanation of the issue.
Photographs, videos, or other supporting documentation, where safe and appropriate.
Step 3: Await assessment
Our team will review your request and may ask for additional information to assess eligibility.
Step 4: Receive return instructions
If the request is approved, LithiumGate will provide the applicable return authorization, shipping instructions, and destination details.
Step 5: Product inspection
Returned goods may be inspected to establish their condition and determine whether the issue qualifies for a refund, replacement, repair, or another appropriate remedy.
Do not send products to an address unless LithiumGate has authorized the return.
5. Refund Policy
Refunds may be approved for eligible returns, confirmed supply errors, qualifying product defects, or other circumstances approved by LithiumGate.
Where a refund is approved:
The refund will generally be issued to the original payment method, where supported.
If the original payment method is unavailable, an alternative arrangement may be agreed with the customer.
The refund amount will reflect the approved remedy and any deductions permitted by applicable law and the disclosed terms of sale.
Original delivery charges, return shipping charges, customs duties, and other fees will be handled in accordance with the reason for return, the applicable order terms, and relevant law.
LithiumGate will notify the customer when a refund is approved and provide an estimated processing timeframe.
Refund processing timeframe: [Insert company refund processing period, e.g., 5–10 business days after approval or inspection.]
The time required for the funds to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
6. Replacements and Exchanges
Where appropriate and subject to product availability, LithiumGate may offer a replacement or exchange instead of a refund.
Replacement or exchange requests may be considered when:
The wrong product was supplied.
A product arrives damaged.
An eligible product is confirmed to have a covered defect.
Another exchange arrangement is expressly approved by LithiumGate.
Any replacement must be compatible with the intended application and the relevant product specifications. Customers should not substitute battery cells or combine different battery chemistries, capacities, conditions, or specifications without suitable technical assessment.
If a replacement is unavailable, LithiumGate will discuss the available remedies with the customer, subject to applicable law.
7. Warranty and Product Defects
Any warranty applicable to a LithiumGate product will be governed by the specific warranty terms provided with the product or at the point of sale.
A return request does not automatically establish that a product is defective or covered by warranty. LithiumGate may reasonably request evidence or arrange an inspection to determine the nature of the reported issue.
Damage resulting from improper installation, unauthorized modification, unsuitable charging equipment, incorrect operating conditions, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions may fall outside the applicable warranty, subject to its terms and applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Second-Life and Refurbished Battery Products
Second-life, reused, refurbished, or otherwise previously used battery products may have a different history and condition from new products.
Before purchasing, customers should review the product description, stated condition, available test information, and any applicable limitations or warranty terms.
Minor cosmetic wear or other condition characteristics disclosed in the listing may not, by themselves, constitute a defect. However, this does not remove any rights arising from material misdescription, qualifying defects, or applicable consumer protection law.
Customers should contact LithiumGate promptly if a product materially differs from its description or if a safety concern is identified.
9. Return Shipping Costs
Responsibility for return shipping costs will depend on the reason for the return and the applicable order terms.
Incorrect items or qualifying delivery damage: LithiumGate will explain the applicable return or replacement shipping arrangements once the claim has been assessed.
Confirmed covered defects: Shipping arrangements will be communicated in accordance with the applicable warranty and legal requirements.
Change of mind or other customer-requested returns: The customer may be responsible for approved return shipping costs where permitted by law and disclosed in the applicable terms.
Hazardous or damaged batteries: Special handling and transportation arrangements may be required. Customers must not independently arrange an ordinary shipment for a battery that may be unsafe to transport.
Any applicable shipping costs will be communicated before an authorized return proceeds, where reasonably practicable.
10. Order Cancellations
Customers who wish to cancel an order should contact LithiumGate as soon as possible.
Cancellation requests may be accepted if the order has not been dispatched or otherwise committed to fulfilment. Once an order has shipped, the request may need to be handled under the returns process.
Custom, specially procured, or made-to-order items may be subject to additional disclosed cancellation terms, where legally permitted.
Approved cancellations will be refunded in accordance with the applicable refund procedure and legal requirements.
11. Delivery Issues and Unclaimed Orders
Customers should inspect delivered packages as soon as reasonably possible and report visible damage, missing items, or incorrect products promptly.
If a shipment is delayed, lost, returned to sender, or undeliverable, customers should contact LithiumGate with the relevant order and tracking details.
Any refund, replacement, redelivery charge, or other remedy will depend on the circumstances, the shipping arrangement, the applicable order terms, and relevant law.
12. Environmental Responsibility and End-of-Life Batteries
LithiumGate supports responsible reuse, refurbishment, and secondary clean-energy applications for suitable battery products.
Customers must not dispose of exhausted, damaged, or unwanted lithium batteries in ordinary household waste or general landfill streams where prohibited. Batteries should be directed to an appropriate authorized collection, recycling, or hazardous-material processing facility.
A product’s return eligibility does not authorize customers to ship unsafe batteries without proper approval and transport arrangements.
13. Limitation of This Policy
This policy should be read together with LithiumGate’s Terms and Conditions, applicable product descriptions, any product-specific warranty, and relevant consumer protection laws.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or replace a legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Where a conflict arises between this policy and a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory requirement will prevail.
